The Department of Tamil introduced its undergraduate Tamil Literature program in 2013 and its postgraduate Tamil Literature program in 2016. With the vision of making students global knowledge centres, the department provides education aimed at connecting them to societal progress and cultural awareness. In addition to fostering knowledge, skills, and abilities, the department consistently strives to enhance students’ capacities to contribute to societal welfare.

Through teaching translation, research, and artistic skills, the department helps improve students’ quality of life. The Department of Tamil actively promotes research, empowering students and scholars to develop innovative and novel ideas. By doing so, it aims to create skilled human resources suited to the fields of education, culture, and society.

The aim is to provide educational knowledge to rural students, enabling them to pursue higher education while offering quality language education and technology-based learning, thereby producing excellent Tamil graduates.
